Spike is a very sweet and affectionate four year old neutered male dachshund. Due to a change in life circumstances, his human needs to find a new home for him. He is in excellent health and can walk/hike five miles or more as long as it isn't too warm outside. He also loves to play fetch with his squeak toys.

Spike is very well house trained and knows how to use a doggy door. He really likes the company of other dogs, so it's best for him to be in a home with additional canines. He also gets along well with cats. He gets talkative when someone is at the door, so he serves the dual purpose of being a door bell, as well as a lap warmer. When meeting new people he warms up to women almost immediately, and will occasionally take slightly longer with men. He will be happy to keep you company at night, but is just as content when sleeping in his own bed.

Spike comes with two beds, one of them heated, two crates (one with a bed), several leashes, a couple of collars (one which has spikes, of course!), assorted toys, dishes, blankets, and a couple of jackets. He has a chip, for which owner of record will be transferred, and is current on all of his shots. Records provided.

Spike has always been fed a high quality, natural diet consisting of mostly grain free raw, canned, and dry foods, as well as treats. He thrives on these foods, displaying abundant energy and happiness, and should continue to be fed this type of diet.
